The shorts are trying to delay the amc split seemingly to give them time to create a method to pay for the squeeze, maybe it'll be a Citadel created crypto, as Citadel is becoming a market maker in the crypto space, maybe a separate CBDC, or maybe even a new FED bailout loan.
It seems congress and FINRA are getting involved trying to actively protect shorts and hedge funds, reducing disclosure around security based swaps and loans, rather than increasing disclosure, to 'protect' the shorts.
