The TNT Mine: Touring its Tunnels and Trailer
0Paul, Justin, and I decided to document the extensive TNT Mine and mining camp on a sweltering hot summer day in a desert somewhere near you. We reached the mine after a long drive across the El Ancho Valley and discovered on the way that the weather was unusually hot and humid for the desert. We thought we'd find cooler temperatures inside the abandoned mine because mines are normally very cool inside. However, the TNT Mine was extremely humid and warm inside. The extensive tunnels were never tall enough to stand fully upright in, so we constantly had to stoop which made walking really uncomfortable. In the end, we documented the entire mine despite the discomfort. The mining camp had some interesting ruins strewn about, too, including equipment and a trashed trailer that was a residence.
