The Trial - Chrono Trigger Complete - Walkthrought Part #01 (SNES/Super Nintendo)
0I'm playing Chrono Trigger for the first time on SNES/Super Nintendo, the original game being released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System or SNES/Super Famicom in 1995.
I had tried out the game on a SNES emulator many years ago but didn't play much of it. I do recall enjoying the battles back then, and this seems to still hold true - I have never played as far as I do in this video prior to this video and had only tried out the game in the past.
I'm playing the Chrono Trigger COMPLETE hack - which has all the glitches fixed, and the proper re-translation of the game I believe.
The game itself has beautiful art by Akira Toriyama (the creator of Dragon Ball Z), has an awesome story, awesome music, good looking cinematics in the PC-release, and I enjoyed the story so far and the characters.
It's a Japanese-Role-Playing-Game by Square and is simiilar to the Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy games but with its own unique gameplay. It has very unique battles and gameplay mechanics. It's almost like an anime in game-form.
I'm certainly gonna finish this game but I'm not certain on what system.
Unlike the sequel Chrono Cross for the PS1 this game doesn't have any 3D graphics and is entirely in 2D - it also has a more interesting story that doesn't feel as childish - unlike the sequel which felt a bit childish when I played it for an hour. Chrono Trigger has a much more interesting story for me as a 30+ year-old man who has never played Chrono Trigger or Chrono Cross as a kid.
I'm playing a bit further in this video starting from the beginning yet again, but continuing until I finish off the Dragon Tank boss and escape the "current Time Line" and enter into the dystopian future timeline.
