10The TRUTH behind Magic the gathering and collecting.\n\nCollectors are important to magic the gathering, they help sustain the card values on the market.\nThey are vocal when it comes to reprints and they care about the longevity of the game.\nCollectors like having those specialized items and cards that are hard to get and love getting there money's worth. Collectors help with a lot when it comes to the game of magic the gathering.\nThey focus on the valuables of the game. It's about ot losing money.\n\nThe problem with collecting, some collectors only care about the money side of the game, the “is it worth it” “how much is being printed” “is it something that is easy to reprint?” “does it hold long term value” and that can't always apply!\n\nMost collectors are around my age demographic or follow my age demographic. I stem from a genertion where our old toys are worth money, some serious money. Some old GI-JOES, He-man, Transformers, Teenage mutant ninja turtles, just to list a few. These are some toylines that don't exist anymore and the franchises live longer. Meaning even if they remade these classic figures, they won't be the same quality they were like before. Different paint colors, apps ect. The plast wont b the same of regulations. And over the years, this shows. And see Magic the gathering collectors get greedy. Some in-particular. For some collectibles it takes years to garner and gather the big money values they earn.\n\nMagic collectors act like Wizards of the coast should print GOLD on paper. Money out of the box, I pay $100 I need $300 in value kind of greed. This shows in the Re-Sellers side of things, collectors who resell care about getting their money back even more. Because out of happenstance, they don't want to lose out of money, as if they are gold digging or running the stock market? Buy low and sell high. \n\nThis gets into dirty business, buying boxes, packs and singles to collect and flip, recycle the business and don't lose out. Buy something, get my money back, plus extra to prophet. Diamonds are formed when carbon atoms bond together under extreme pressure and heat. Magic cards are not the same.\n\nWOTC cannot keep pooping out diamonds! They try to get lucky overtime, get better and making product, but we know about corporate greed and how that works. It's not always going to happen!\n\nAnd what if collectors got there way? What if every magic product was gold? They would buy ll the product they can and make it harder for kids and children to play the game. If collectors all together had there way would suffocate the younger audience out of the game. The young demographic. It would become a rich man's game. Then at a certain point, who would play the game? If every magic cards was money in your account, who would play magic the gathering? Magic the gathering is a game first and a collectible second. But together the sides work together. But the game cannot always be a win for collectors right?
