The Tulle I Seamripped with My Own Two Hands May Contain Formaldehyde Resin
Visual Description: A woman faces the camera. She's got brown hair worn in a ponytail and wears blue-rimmed eyeglasses that help her to see. She's dressed in a black dress and white, fingerless gloves. A length of black tulle is situated behind her on top of a wooden cabinet. She's overlayed other elements at various points throughout the video, such as footage of the tulle when it was still attached to the skirt of a dress, and the source that she is citing. She also includes a works cited page that is verbally spoken at the end of the video.
Description: I seamripped some floofy tulle off the bottom of a thrifted dress. After washing it it smelled strongly of fish. When I tried to figure out what could be causing it, what came up online is that the smell may be caused by a formaldehyde-based resin.
I'm honestly really worried about the safety of garment workers now, because they come into contact with fabric for long periods of time, and might have greater exposure to chemicals used in the manufacturing process of clothing than consumers.
