This map was surprisingly easy considering it's at the end of the episode. You get quite a few good weapons here if you know where to look, and two invulnerability powerups placed near the two barons. Despite its size, it's not really a maze, and it's pretty hard to get lost.
All of that might be because Tom Hall intended for it to be the first map of the game before he resigned from Id Software. It dates all the way back to the early Doom prototypes, where it features a scene of several space marines playing poker at a table. This was the intended intro of the game, where you would get acquainted with Buddy Dacote, short for "dies at conclusion of the episode".
