The UNTOLD Story of Sir Alex Ferguson
2227 long and illustrious years at the helm of Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign cannot even remotely be matched either in England or anywhere else on the planet for his mix of longevity and success. But it wasn’t always designed to be the case.
Even in the most fruitful times for Ferguson and Manchester United, there were the chances for the greatest football manager of all time to leave Old Trafford. There was also a tantalising job prospect in the 1980s that might have seen the great man diverted away from Manchester full stop.
Today we explore three alternate universes where Sir Alex Ferguson either leaves Old Trafford prematurely, or never arrives at all.
