Welcome everyone to my Gameplay Walkthrough series for The Walking Dead video game, available for download on the PSN store today. Set in the same universe as The Walking Dead TV show and comic books, the The Walking Dead game is set during the early days of the zombie outbreak, when Rick Grimes is still in a coma in the hospital.
The game is divided in 5 episodes. This is episode 1 entitled A New Day.
Lee Everett is a man who may or may not be a murderer and is being brought out of Atlanta in a police car. On the way, Lee sees a number of emergency service vehicles rushing into Atlanta city in a bid to control the spread of the ever growing zombie horde. After hitting a walker on the street, the police cruiser crashes into the forest and Lee is forced to run from a horde of Walkers and take shelter in the home of Clementine, an 8 year old girl whose parents are out of town and presumably dead and whose babysitter has turned into a Walker. Lee decides to take Clementine with her in order to keep her safe and to get out of town before dark.
On the street they meet Shawn Greene who takes Lee and Clementine to his father Hershel Greene's Farm (yes, that's the same Hershel from the TV series)
After helping out around the farm, Shawn and Duck are attacked by Walkers. I decide to save Duck, seeing as he's a child, and it's revealed how Hershel's son Shawn dies before Rick and his company arrive. Afterwards, Lee and Kenny make their way to Macon where they encounter a group of survivors, including Glenn from The Walking Dead's main storyline.
