I was one of those players who didn't bother with Gwent at all during my first playthrough. Given all the rest of what the game had to offer, lengthy card duels were just too much for me to handle at the time. After 200 hours with the game, I'm now slowly trying to wrap my head around TW3's large CCG component. While it doesn't have the admirable simplicity of Final Fantasy 8's Triple Triad - which is my favorite in-game card system (at least if you don't count Microprose's half-forgotten and underrated open world RPG version of Magic the Gatering from 1997) - I do like how Gwent encourages you to keep your cool, plan ahead to the next round and let the enemy literally overplay his or her hand.
