The Witcher 3 [Gameplay #29] - The Quality of Mercy [Death March Difficulty] [ENDING]
For all the countless frustrations with Witcher 3's combat mechanics, playing through the Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine DLCs back to back feels like time well spent. While B&W's drastically different environments was a somewhat awkward fit with the overall tone of TW3 and its general approach to the fantasy genre, the change of scenery is nonetheless refreshing and CD Projekt RED has once again produced a ridiculous amount of content for the player to explore. I've more or less accepted that storytelling in the Witcher series will never be quite what I'd want it to be, but there are at least some great new characters in Blood & Wine and several well-crafted story quests which easily rival most of what's on offer in the main game in terms of epic scope and moral ambiguity.
