The areas surrounding Murky Waters have an almost survival horror-esque gloom to them, which makes for a more oppressing atmosphere than even the dangerous back alleys of Vizima could muster. The "noonwraiths" - ghosts which appear in broad daylight rather than in the middle of the night - is a brilliant and unsettling addition to the already appropriately gruesome bestiary of The Witcher.

Also, by rushing through it rather carelessly I seem to have messed up and got myself a suboptimal ending to the intriguing "Heat of the Day" quest. There are several interesting examples of this in the game, where there are multiple solutions to a quest and the "best" approach requires a bit more work and attention to detail than might be expected.
