INTRODUCTION:
In the year 3000 the world of video games is no longer like we know them from today. People need a more intense gaming experience that can isolate them from present time. The world of video games has been revolutionized thanks to the virtual reality games, that in the future will be much more advanced than anyone can imagine.
It is now possible to choose specific episodes from the past and play in this reality. Your name is Richard Burton and you have been chosen to infiltrate Hitler’s bunker …and kill him while he sleeps!
REVIEW:
To do this you have to eliminate a lot of guards and find some hidden keys you will need to unlock doors. The keys are not visible so you have to search everywhere to find them. You do not have unlimited ammo but you can also find extra ammo as you proceed. You can find either 5 bullets or ammunition boxes that replenish the ammunition to the maximum. It is also possible to find health bottles.
The game features 59 screens, and when you have found and killed Hitler, the game ends. But to complete the game 100% and unlock the ending screen, you will also have to find and kill Eva Braun, Joseph Goebbels, Magda Goebbels, the dog Blondi, and you will have to find and kill all the 50 nazi guards, and collect their bodies.
The game is kind of like “Into the Eagle’s Nest” but with flip screens. The visuals are stunning, featuring highly colorful and detailed graphics. The gameplay is very tactical, because you have to sneak into the guards, otherwise they will see you and immediately open fire, and you will not last for long.
The controls are working fine, the gameplay is good, and the graphics is great. The big negative with this game is the sound, which is actually quite weird, because the game is made for both the ZX Spectrum and the Amstrad CPC, and the CPC game is available in two versions with different in game soundtracks.
The CPC has an AY sound chip like the Spectrum, so why the AY music is not added in the Spectrum version is very strange.
Graphically the Spectrum version is superior to the CPC version, so the missing music is really a shame, especially when it is available and just needs to be added.
If the game had been with the atmospheric CPC AY music I would have rated it 5% higher.
The game was published by Retrobytes Productions in 2018.
