The Zebetite Skip Glitch in Super Metroid (SNES) - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
In Super Metroid for the SNES, there's a fairly easy glitch you can exploit to pass through the zebetites in Mother Brain's lair. The zebetites are those wall things you have to shoot with missiles, and they appear in this game and in the original Metroid.
Normally, you have to shoot through four zebetite walls before you can reach Mother Brain, but using this glitch, you can pass through just one zebetite and you'll be free to go directly to Mother Brain.
Here's what you do: First, unequip the Screw Attack and make sure your Ice Beam is activated. Then, enter Mother Brain's chamber.
Once inside Mother Brain's room with the flying acid Cheerios and the bullets, you're going to run under the first small platform, underneath the first zebetite wall. Stand here and aim up and to the right. One of those Cheerio thingies should spawn right above you, and when it does, freeze it with the Ice Beam as soon as it spawns.
By the way, apparently the Cheerio things are called Rinkas. Thanks, Wikitroid! - https://metroid.fandom.com/wiki/Zebetite_Glitch
Anyway, if you've frozen the Rinka right as it spawns (and when it spawns, it doesn't start moving for a solid half second, so it's not hard to time) you can spin jump onto the frozen Rinka, and Samus will take damage. To perform a spin jump, you simply need to start walking or running before you jump, and continue to hold the directional pad while you're jumping.
When you spin jump onto this Rinka, the game will place Samus on top of the frozen Rinka even though it is frozen inside of a wall/platform. So rather than standing on the platform, Samus will be standing on the frozen Rinka, and will be able to push one pixel into the zebetite, which is why she will take damage and flinch backwards.
When Samus takes damage like this, you need to quickly spin jump forward again to land on the frozen Rinka, then perform a standing jump (non-spinning) while moving forward. If you've done everything correctly, Samus will pass right through the zebetite without having to shoot it with missiles.
Not only will you pass this wall, but because the game does not load the other zebetite walls until the first one is destroyed, there will be no more zebetites obstructing your way, so you can simply run and jump straight to Mother Brain after passing the first zebetite.
