It is quick to lose enthusiasm, whether we are working to avoid climate change or just want to deal with a challenging task or project. Our efforts seem to be nothing more than a drop in the ocean, no matter how many sleepless nights we dedicate to achieving our targets. Yet, as it turns out, through patient honeybees, we might be able to learn a bit of patience.

Arinthathum Ariyathathum has come to a curious realization about these honey makers and is ready to convince you that great oaks also fallen from small strokes.
A bee's lifespan is very short.
For around 4 to 8 weeks, an ordinary working bee lives. In contrast to our 65-70 years of life, that is nothing. They have far less time than we do to influence the world. Nevertheless, nobody saw a bee that gave up their chores because "it doesn't really matter."
One bee's effort is negligible.
Just 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey makes one working bee. And they wouldn't even make that number, speaking of drones and the queen. Yet everybody does their own work in a hive so that they can both work and continue living.
Working bees deliver nectar and pollen to the young generation and lift them. Drones are men who not only mate with the queen, but also do the "dirty job," they fan in the hive using their wings to preserve the correct temperature. And it is just the laying of eggs that affects the queens. A tiny bee seems unimportant, but it would all collapse if you delete them from the system.
There is nothing a bee cares about doing about themselves.
A worker bee doesn't benefit directly through what she is doing. Not really a drop of honey belongs to her and besides. She's been working hard all her life only to lift the next generation and make the hive go on living. And the reality doesn't even persuade her to give up.
The entire hive may be convinced by one bee to follow her.
The bees need to find a new place to live when all the cells in a hive are complete and the queen doesn't have room to lay eggs. So they leave their old shelter, and they land in a tree altogether. To find a thriving place they can inhabit, some of the bees are sent in different directions.
No matter how small your impact can sound to you, if you look at the facts, it has a huge influence. Never forget the 1/12 of a teaspoon is vital to you.
