This game was intentionally designed to look like it’s played on a Game Boy Color, but it’s actually a brand new game from the same people that made Shovel Knight. Here’s everything you need to know about it:
You play as Mina, a mouse who just happens to be a genius inventor and skilled fighter. She’s also a “Hollower”, which means she has the ability to burrow and quickly travel under the ground. This allows her to explore otherwise unreachable areas, bypass certain obstacles, and evade attacks from enemies.
The gameplay has been described by some as Castlevania crossed with top-down Zelda, and I think that’s a pretty fair assessment, but right now, we only have a fairly short demo to go off of. The full game releases on Halloween, but in the meantime, I definitely recommend checking out the demo for yourself, because I found it to be very promising.
