God of War Ragnarök actor Robert Craighead explains how he stumbled into working on video games as part of his long and successful film career in Hollywood.

He explains that he originally auditioned for the role of Kratos, which eventually went to actor Chris Judge. Unfortunately, Craighead also did not get the role of Freya, Vanir goddess and Queen of the Valkyries (the part went to Danielle Bisutti). However, the developers kept Craighead in mind for other roles and decided that he would be perfect to play Brok the dwarf, brother of Sindri, in God of War 2018.

Brok and Sindri have a very strained relationship, and the two have not spoken in years when players first encounter them in God of War 2018. However, through their mutual decision to help Kratos and Atreus on their journey (due to their loyalty to Faye, the boy's mother) the brothers reunite and reconcile their differences.

Craighead recalls a personal story of a broken brotherhood in his own family. His father and his uncle had not spoken in 30 years due to a business disagreement. However, a family passing finally brought the brothers together again.

Craighead remembers the pain his father went through as a result of the strained relationship with his brother, even though the man had a gruff and stoic exterior (similar to the personality that Brok exhibits). In a way, Craighead drew on his father's memory in order to inhabit the role of Brok.

Craighead also mentions his good friend Dee Wallace, an actor most famous for playing the mother in E.T. the Extraterrestrial. Wallace said that sometimes difficulties in life are a reminder for people to be kind to each other and to care for one another.
