This report will expose synthetic shares!
Hang Loose has noted that Investors are able to request a full shareholder report directly from SEC. This contains all of the names and share counts of each individual investor.
This would be interesting to see because, per the latest data, there are around 5m individual shareholders of AMC, excluding institutions, ETFs and insiders, there are around 300m shares available to be held, this means an average shareholding of around 68 shares per investor.
Now this seems incredibly low considering many investors own well over 1,000 shares, some even over 10,000 (if this isn't you yet, even buying 2 shares of AMC per week can get you over 100 shares by the end of the year!).
Now this report would likely only show the names of those holding the legally issued 513m shares, thereby leaving off many investors entirely!
