New Orleans single dad and cop Wes Block goes after a serial killer, but when he gets too close the hunter suddenly becomes the hunted.

Tightrope is a 1984 neo-noir thriller film directed by Richard Tuggle and Clint Eastwood, who also stars as Wes Block, a divorced New Orleans cop who is hunting a serial killer that targets women of the night. As Block gets closer to the killer, he finds himself drawn to the seedy underworld of the city, where he frequents brothels and bars, and uses women of the night as informants. He also struggles to balance his work and his family, as his ex-wife tries to reconnect with their two daughters, who are also threatened by the killer. Block is assisted by Beryl Thibodeaux, a women's rights activist, who becomes his love interest. The film explores the themes of obsession, morality, and violence, and features a distinctive New Orleans setting and cinematography by Bruce Surtees.
