Time Warner Cable (Kind of) Admits to Throttling
Time Warner Cable swears it has NOT been throttling customers. Throttling, if you didn't know, is when ISPs slow down connections to streaming video services, such as Youtube or Twitch.TV. Twitch users have become more vocal in recent months about slowdowns, though TWC and other ISPs are continuing to defend their stance.
Now, Twitch says they are sitting down with Time Warner Cable to fix slowdown problems so that users can watch streaming games without rage-inducing slowdowns and buffer-times. (http://blog.twitch.tv/2013/06/time-warner-cable-works-with-twitch-to-improve-service/)
Is this an admission from the ISP of throttling? Do you think ISPs are guilty of throttling customers who stream, which is in essence, direct competition to actually watching cable?
