E3 Security Guard Fired for Creeping on Reporter
Kotaku recently published a piece called "The Creepy Side of E3" featuring many stories of female industry and press professionals being harassed, insulted, and otherwise sexualized or threatened at the expo. (http://kotaku.com/the-creepy-side-of-e3-513484271)
E3 is an industry and press-only event, which means it stands to reason that the environment should be professional. Is there still a "creep factor" to this and other expos and conventions? Is what happened a causality of grouping tens of thousands of people together? Are women still not taken seriously in the games industry?
What do you think happened? And is it fair to characterize the incidents' causes as an issue with "gamer culture" or society in general?
