I'm not an Ecologist. My name is not Kruglov. My job is to infiltrate the Ecologist Faction and make them believe, that I am one of them. I will look like one of them. I will act like one of them. I will live like one of them. I have to do it the hard way. This is the Exclusion Zone, and it takes your full attention, talent and wit, just to be able to survive. If you lack any of those, you won't last very long. When someone calls for Kruglov, I will answer to it. I am the Tinker.

Encrypted Diary: With the weather changing from fog to heavy rain, thunder and lightning, I spotted some friendly forces to the west on a nearby hill. When I jumped down from the ship and ran up the hillside to find them, they were not there. Then I realized my target acquisition had actually detected them much farther away, across a large backwater, and I finally identified them as fellow Ecologists. After wading across the water, I found them around a campfire overlooking a large swamp.

I could see flashes of white light dancing around in the green murk of the chemical anomalies that saturated the swamp. I knew those were artifacts, so I descended into the swamp to get them. I recovered three artifacts and then realized there was a helicopter in the middle of it. I then got a PDA message that Duty was under attack by Monolith at the Krug Antenna. I rushed south through the anomalies and got halfway up the hillside when my detection meter went off. An unknown mutant was near that stopped me in my tracks. Since this was the same location as the Bloodsucker Lair, I felt it was unwise to go any further.

It was night, I was unfamiliar with this part of Zaton and there was no telling how many Bloodsuckers were out and about. I retreated back into the swamp. Most likely Duty was already dead before I could get there. If they survived the Monolith attack, I hope they would leave the area before the Bloodsuckers got them. Back in the middle of the swamp at the helicopter, I found some chests laying outside of it, with some supplies. Climbing on top of the helicopter I spotted a Bloodsucker walking away from the swamp, going towards the Krug Antenna complex.
