TLoZ: Oracle of Ages #5- Crown Dungeon
The Maku Tree directs us to the Rolling Ridge region, north of Nayru's house. However intermixed with our progress there I also take the time to make sure we complete the trading sequence. The big reward for doing all that is getting a sword upgrade, and we all know more damage means faster battles.
Anyway, Rolling Ridge. It's the home of the local population of Gorons, and (spoiler) house to more than one Essence of Time. Using our wibbly wobbly, timey wimey powers, we help the Gorons rescue their leader from a rockslide that covered him in the past (though according to him he was in no real danger), and we also apparently begin their obsession with Bomb Flowers along the way.
Doing all that, we gain access to level 5: the Crown Dungeon. Given its crown-like shape, it's a bit of a maze; the game is definitely moving up a notch in the puzzle-o-meter. In here we find the Cane of Somaria: a returning item from A Link to the Past. The cane can be used to spawn solid blocks anywhere we want... Which is usually on top of buttons. It sadly lacks some of the added functionalities from ALttP, but in return the blocks it conjures are way more solid than the ones in that game, so it has some fun uses.
The boss here is Smog. Smog is fun. More of a mini game than a boss to be honest! After a few rounds playing with him, we obtain our fifth Essence of Time: the Sacred Soil.
Of course, as I mentioned before, the Maku Tree then asks us to continue investigating the Rolling Ridge, since she's still sensing an Essence of Time here.
As usual, the software belongs to its owners, I only record my gameplay for my own enjoyment.
