TNT’s first secret map is unquestionably one of its best. You get to go inside, outside, underneath, and in every room of an ancient Egyptian pyramid and even the surrounding town and landscape. Although it can be a little hard to find your next destination sometimes, the map’s structure is easy to navigate, and backtracking is interesting as the central room has Arachnotron “statues” and other enemies that appear through each trip. The icing on the cake is the incredible music, Legion of the Lost, an atmospheric track also used for the score screens.
TNT has several huge maps in its second half, but Pharaoh stands above them all. This is probably because it was made by Dario Casali. If that name sounds familiar to you, it’s because he and his brother Milo Casali created The Plutonia Experiment, the other (better) half of Final Doom. They contributed a small handful of maps to TNT, and their maps are considered some of the better ones in the IWAD.
