Happy Valentines Day! I celebrate by smoking Love Potion #9 from Alaska Fireweed and talking about Valentines Day.

This Love Potion #9 has a THC of 28.42% and a CBD of 0.09%. It was brewed... I mean cultivated!!! With love by Smoking Joe's Terps.

These buds have a sweet peppery aroma that I tasted right away when I fired it up. Expect a sensational strong body high with relaxing vibes. Definitely a strain for intimacy and relaxation. You may feel couch locked if you smoke too much because this Indica Dominant is strong! One bowl got me high, while two bowls had me stoned. It was hard to keep my eyes open after the second bowl. I recommend this as a nighttime strain that will heighten physical sensations for intimacy and help glide you off into relaxing slumber.

It being Valentines Day, I talk about how Valentines Day began. During the Roman Empire, a festival in February called Lupercalia was celebrated in honor of Faunus (Lupercus), who was a God for flock and shepards. Basically a God for agriculture. During this time they would take strips of hides from goats to make whips with. Watch the Toke Talk to find out what they did.

The month of February also had another pagan festival for Juno Februata, the Godess for the fever of love, marriage and women. During this festival, single women's names were placed in a bag and single men would draw a name to be paired with for the festivities.

In the 5th century, Pope Gelasius declared Valentines Day to be celebrated as a Holy Day on February 14th in honor of Saint Valentines. There were about three saints whom were martyred, but many believe it honors the Saint whom would marry couples against the law placed on by Roman Emperor Claudius II. Marriage became illegal because the emperor believed couples were marrying to get out of military service and becoming drafted.

How every it started, we still celebrate it today! We celebrate it for love.

How did you celebrate Valentines Day?
