The Tomy Tutor Play Computer is a pre school style toy computer, with orange keys, a red return button, yellow space bar and a variety of on screen images/programs. These images scroll up the screen through various keyboard actions and show a variety of images from clowns to robots and even a version of space invaders. You can provoke animation by pressing the space bar which scrolls the saw-tooth display and creates an effect of movement. Tomy introduced this toy in 1984 after their actual Tomy Tutor Computer failed to succeed in both domestic and Western markets, although this isn't really a response to that, it's more of an update to their 1977 Tomy Typer toy, which mimicked a typewriter in a similar fashion.
