It's only the second week of 2014, and it has already been one of the most remarkable years in the history of marijuana policy reform. I always knew we would reach the point at which adults started legally buying marijuana in retail stores, but I never imagined it would be as momentous as what we saw in Colorado last week.

Now that things have settled down a bit, I decided to reflect on the past year and how we arrived at this point.

After giving it some thought, I compiled a list of "The Top 10 Marijuana Developments in 2013," which was published this week by The Huffington Post. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/rob-kampia/the-marijuana-policy-proj_b_4550885.html

Thanks to the generosity of our members, MPP played a leading role in most of these developments. By making a donation to MPP today, you can help us accomplish even more in 2014.

In fact, we're already on our way toward having a big year. Organizers of a campaign we're supporting in Alaska have submitted their petition to place a legalization initiative on the August 2014 ballot, and we're expecting the introduction of similar measures in various state legislatures later this month.

Momentum is building and -- now more than ever -- you have the chance to help make history by supporting our work to end marijuana prohibition.

Sincerely,

Rob Kampia
