Song Comments:
So right after the other one, this is the second out of three tunes on this list that was composed by a western developer, and it also shows why I don't usually like western video game music: It's highly atmospheric and has a strong effect together with the game, but it's not something I'd like to listen to, and that goes for pretty much any video game that was developed in the west, sadly (or, quite a few of them use licensed soundtracks that are good, but no material for this list). However, this one excels so much at what it's doing that I decided to pick it.
Game Comments:
Back when Metroid Prime was released, I thought that the game was amazing, but too short with only 16 and a half hours of gameplay. Today, 16 hours is a good size for an action adventure. Times surely have changed... still, it's my favorite game in the Prime series by far, and probably my favorite in the entire Metroid series.
