IX is the best map to launch with Black Ops 4. Here’s five things it did wrong.

#5: The trials are a great part of the map, but they clutter the HUD. There’s no need for the challenge to be visible all the time. They should have turned the opacity to zero when the challenge isn’t being progressed to clear up the screen.

#4: Another problem with the trials is there’s no way to skip past them. Sometimes you’ll get a trail that doesn’t line up with what you’re doing, and your playtime with the trials basically ends there.

#3: IX has a great design, but the underground areas of the map look very similar. I basically just end up running in a circle until I find what I need, which isn’t ideal.

#2: IX has a lot of bosses, and too many of them have ranged attacks. The Axemen can throw their axes, tigers can leap at you from very far away, and Blightfathers have a projectile as well. It can be a lot to account for and brings down the casual experience without much benefit.

#1: IX doesn’t have a great wonder weapon. While its design and concept is extremely unique, it’s not strong enough or fast enough for me to use over other more fun weapons when playing casually.
