This is our top 10 favorite antagonists in RPGs. Do consider that some of them are villains, and some others... not quite. Our Icewind Dale II review is still in the making It's almost done! But while you wait for the next entry in our "Road to Baldur's Gate 3" video series, we decided to present you with our picks for best "bad guys" with good reasons.






The criterion we used follows three simple rules:






1) It's antagonists more than villains. Some of these people aren't quite villains... and also consider that in video games... sometimes you're the bad guy.








2) There's a no stacking policy in effect. We don't want The Witcher saga, the Mass Effect Trilogy or Fallout to take all the spots.









3) While there are great villains in Last of Us, Batman Arkham series and Mafia, we're focusing in RPGs and RPGish games (to avoid that discussion).






Also consider that this list is not meant to be the ultimate companion ranking. It is completely based on a personal opinion although we do give an extensive explanation over why we chose these "bad guys" and not some others.
