At long last emptied the vault I failed last time — and for once NPCs did NOT trigger the alarm. Clutch snuck past the lasers when I wasn’t looking (even after looting his bags), nearly tripped the alarm, gave me a near ‘I wanna slap you’ moment — but miraculously, he didn’t get caught, so fair enough.
I kept spamming the “stay put” command while switching characters and looting two bags per run after that just to be sure. Even opened what I assumed was laser control (but it did nothing, so no clue what it is).
Next up, on day 11, the initial offense was Helio’s desperation to expand from his little corner of shame (he’s down to one territory, the wuss), and the Riders — both of which I fended off despite touchdown being down twice (of all things) in Helio’s defense — he STOMPED the Riders’ one. I avoided dealing with Cagnali because she scares the shit out of me with her tier 3 army of machines.
Indirectly, this humbling led me to throw my hands up in the air and purchase garbage for Baker’s office which... unexpectedly helped a considerable amount! I also had plenty of coin I had no use for at the time, so I grabbed about 10 amenities.
Between the vault and later day 11 shenanigans (some business was assaulted), I earned promotions for all my LvL 2s so my lowest levels are now 3... alas, the investigation is 100% so I’m kinda done, I fear — likely gonna get trampled next time I play.
