First of the bad shots completed. I had a scary token situation on Mayumi, a somewhat odd Stage 6 spam, a route that went off the rails near the end of Fencer Haniwa, and a strange start to Stage 5 post midboss streaming, but otherwise most things went according to plan. Stage 5 opener spin was weird, but it's been weird in practice these days and I haven't died yet, and I didn't want to figure out a better cue for it.
I lost a bit of save data while on this grind, but overall I would have 18-20 hours on this shot. A lot of time was spent finding strategies for Circle Creature -- from trying bottom dodges, to a incredibly tight 1 wave top kill, to an also tight 1.5 top kill, to finally settling with just doing 2 normal waves at the top. Also spent a lot of time labbing Fencer Haniwa. In the end, I went with the timeout strategy.
Not sure if MarisaOtter or ReimuEagle are better. From what I've played, I feel they are more or less even from Stage 1-5. MariO has hard a rings section, while ReiE has a hard bacteria spam, and everything else is mostly similar. ReiE unfocused shots have a similar dps to MariO focus shots.
MariO requires an extra wave of Circle Creature (or 1 at the bottom, but it is harder that way in my opinion) as well as sometimes up to double the waves on Linear Creature. ReiE has an extra half wave of Idol Creature (and harder waves) and either an extra wave of Geometric Creature, or unfocused yellow waves.
However, some people prefer the corner strategy, and with that strategy, ReiE will actually dodge one less wave than MariO. For someone using that strategy, ReiE will likely be easier. Otherwise, it seems very even.
