A random idea I got yesterday, I wanted to 1cc White Names Spoiled Past on lunatic when I randomly felt like it yesterday, Could be thanks to the OST, I really like the OST of this game, I prefer the stage themes over the boss themes.. Actually :V, played on lap 2 because it would be lame to 1cc hard on lap 1 and lunatic on lap 1 too, right? :V
Touhou 東方白塵記 ~ White Names Spoiled Past is a fangame developed by several members and associates of the team behind previous fangames, The Last Comer and Mystical Power Plant, the soundtracks are composed by Misora (深蒼穹).
This game is a mystery novel disguised as a shmup, I can't speak Japanese myself and I haven't really been playing the dialogue slow at all, the reason for this would be that I was short on time, infact I could very well have had to be gone at the final spellcard, so I wouldn't have been able to upload this in that case.. Literally copying this from my hard 1cc here, a little bit of a change since one of the things I noticed being wrong isn't in it
: "I like the gameplay, However I dislike how I can't seem to be able to investigate on the hints as I can't read/speak Japanese.. Oh well, anyways, in case you're wondering why I bombed when it wasn't needed, It's because once your (3 bomb limit) is full; your item-timer thing in the bottom-left corner is close to 100 or'll reach 100 with that amount, it'll not give you items at all, you got to bomb to unlock item-space, this also follows for lives, even though there's not such a lives-limit as there's for the bombs, Deathbombing is pretty hard in this fangame, sadly."
I love the Stage 1 and Stage 3 theme, the stage 1 theme is very upbeat, the stage 3 theme just gives you joy, it gives you a free and skilled feeling, well, "skilled", more like It just gives you the feeling that you can do more than you think you're capable of, atleast that's how it is for me.
This game looks a lot like GFW, it got 3 stages, 3 bombs, backgrounds of stages that reminds me of GFW, 3 final bosses although they're seperate, a hard difficulty on normal already, not really "hard" but harder than "normal" would imply atleast, the item system vaguely reminds me of GFW's % system too.
I think I played pretty well, considering I got close to Jaimers's score, I'm already happy that I made it to the 400m mark, still, I haven't captured everything I could capture, I could've done a little bit better at Shiragiku Kayano Linné, but considering that the game ran on 120 FPS at midbosses and bosses whilst being disguised as 60 FPS, I think it's only reasonable, I noticed it a few times on lunatic, whilst not having noticed it at all on hard.
Also, this is one of the few times I actually edit my descriptions whilst I'm uploading, I used to do this for a long time but later on I felt like just waiting until uploading is done to add details, Guess it's better to do it right away anyways, it'll spare you time; it'll get you to publish the video faster, then again, we all have our lazy moments.. :V
Overal rating for this game so far: 8.5, the gameplay is fun, the art is okay, the music is pretty nice, the reason that it dropped 1.5 points is actually only because of that 120 FPS bug.. :V
