TowerClimb Chapter 1+ Legend Fragments (Frag+%) in 1:02:21
Chapter 1+ is a bonus game mode for the base game where you are given a Bitchbane, 2 Calling Horns, an Elastograp, a Hookshot, and a Winchshot on Floor 1; Beetles hatch from their Pupa state much more quickly; All witches have a very high chance of despawning (you might see 1 witch every 30 floors on average) which means most of the time you'll fight the Legend Fragment Boss with no Witch to give you Revives or Corrodes for the fight. This is (at the time of upload) the only successful attempt of this "category."
It's significantly easier to navigate all the floors with so many grappling hooks at the start, but the real challenge lies in the final boss fight. As far as I'm aware, this is also currently the only deathless Krystelle fight.
The attempt before this one did 73 hits to Krystelle before I was killed to her purple orb attack; this leads me and others to believe her health is approximately 75 hits.
Some statistics:
I failed the Krystelle Fight 40 times in Chapter 1+ attempts.
I had 1 witch not despawn in the Hidden Keep (final boss room) around attempt 30; as per the rules of Chapter 1+ runs, I did not purchase any potions from the witch; naturally, that run did not succeed.
I had time to take a shower, wash my hair and my body, and dry off during the time it took to load my death logs at the end.
At the time of this upload:
I still haven't earned the Chapter 2 victory card (defeat Zardo).
My total recorded deaths add up to 7117.
My most deaths is 1660 to falling in lava (majority were self-inflicted).
My second most deaths is 1609 to overdose (almost 99% self-inflicted).
My third most deaths is 1355 to falling (majority were self-inflicted).
My fourth most deaths is 606 to lava drips (none of these are self inflicted); this one should be my most deaths.
I have failed the Zardo fight only 10 times.
I have 711 hours in TowerClimb.
Some information regarding the tricks used in this run:
The Kingshook is a craft made from a Level 2 Sword (Bitchbane or Challenger's Sword) and an Elastograp. It allows you to item hop almost without limit for extra clear-speed, and doubles as a sword/elastograp hybrid.
After completing Chapter 1, I drop the floating balloon down to the ground, walk into the balloon, and "zip" through the air. This is done by holding the up-direction while a balloon is grounded. The game normally will "zip" you to the top of the balloon, as if you were climbing it, but when it is on the ground, you instead go through the "zip" animation infinitely, until you press a new direction.
After exiting the Volt Caves, I perform a "Box Zip" using a Crate from the Ground Floor (the only location you can find Crates) to skip the infamous Wheel Climb section of Zardoland. This is done by landing approximately at the same as the box, and the game attempts to teleport you to the top of the box. The engine however does not understand how to teleport you to the top of the crate, and instead gives you infinite, consistent momentum in an upward direction. It is lost when you press any direction command. Holding the up-direction is not required for a box zip, but is preferred as usually you will touch a ceiling and will need to grab it.
