I've been meaning to upload this for a while but, huh, I kept postponing it 😅 .

Anyway, so I've been pretty much obsessed with this fight, I love it and I wanted to do a profound analysis on the different fireball patterns. So to make a video with ALL the possible patterns would be a LONG video, but I think I did a good job putting the most complicated patterns here, which do not always happen, but sometimes and if you are not prepared... they'll likely hit you, and I don't know about you, but I don't like that :p .

(Oh also, the way I did this was by creating a Lua script that changed the memory address where the value for the attack level is stored to 1, then created a savestate there, and every time I wanted to practice, I just loaded that savestate and that was it. Neat huh? :) )

(Oh and I'll also skip the basics here. I will assume you already know the pendulum strat.)

So the critical scenarios can be divided in two: *left* scenarios, and *right* scenarios.

The *right* scenarios are tricky in that sometimes a fireball will go directly towards Link, and there are two things you can do: either immediately move towards the left, or try to block the fireball. Personally, I find the latter more consistent, but I know some players prefer the former, so I'd say experiment there with what works best for you.

So blocking the fireball is not always recommendable anyway, because sometimes it lands in such an angle that it's better to jump over it. That's what the second clip is about. And what I show in I think one part of the third clip.

The other thing to keep in mind is that spot is *not* 100% reliable, you still can get hit so you gotta be very careful to watch the fireballs. Personally, I am (most of the time) watching the fireballs, I tend to watch below to where Link is where I am going to perform a jump, but even then I try to keep my eyes mostly on the fireballs, so I can predict where they'll fall and therefore which is my most convenient move, when to start running, jumping, etc. Of course, this video and explanation is purely theoretical, you still have to practice all of this to incorporate it into your mind and hands :) . (and find your own ways too, this may inspire you but it's totally ok if you change it to adapt to your own way of playing!)

What else about the left scenario... I think that's it for now.

Oh yeah, one more thing: while I do land a 3-hits combo at the beginning of the third clip, I do not recommend it. You probably will notice that sometimes I retreat from my attempt to land even one hit while going left, and the reason is that those fireballs are *very* dangerous. I feel it helps to think of it this way: the fireballs fall in groups, and when there's a group falling towards the left, well, it's very dangerous to attack then because you are basically going to the danger zone and in a way, yeah asking to take a hit :p . But in short, it's very dangerous so that's why I retreat my intentions sometimes.

Now, about the *right* scenarios, in the third clip there is to me the most complicated pattern, and that is where two fireballs fall towards the right in such a way that you cannot dodge by jumping, because the second and higher fireball hits you, but you also cannot stand in place because they hit you as they fall! Argh, what a predicament! But, here's a way out: *running*! Now you need to time it carefully, such that Link either blocks one of the fireballs (like in the video) or you just go through unscathed.

There's also a scenario where there's like a wall of fireballs preventing you from moving, this is why you will see that sometimes I stay in the center of Thunderbird and wait for an opening to escape.

And sometimes, the best is to just quickly turn around and jump and go to the right side.

Oh that reminds me, sometimes it will be timed such that Thunderbird will go right above the right pillar. When that happens, I turn around quicker to the left. This is to enforce the pendulum strat, because if I wait more, I may need to setup the pattern again and I try to avoid that, because like I said the spot is not 100% safe and it can be very dangerous sometimes.

Well, I think that's it for now! As you can see, this is actually a fairly complex fight and it's part of the reason why I've been in love with it and playing it for SO MANY HOURS! lol 😂 (in a single day, in many days... many hours :p )

Alright, I am already reaching the limit, like I always used to haha (yes I was missing this kind of descriptions... I am still thinking about using external sites to host my notes... I don't want them to remain private, I will share more eventually!)

Thanks for watching (AND reading! ^_^), if you liked it, please leave a Like, subscribe if you'd like to see more content on this (profund analysis on videogames, crazy challenges, that's the name! lol) and have a good day!

Cheers,
Velpa.
