Video Transcript:
Tracer is that hero we all love, most known for her signature blink ability. It has a total of 3 charges that can be seen under the crosshair, and once used each charge takes 3 seconds to replenish. Blink darts her 15 yards in whatever direction she is currently traveling. Utilize this ability to confuse the hell out of your enemies while you run around and zap them. Blink is an especially good trick for getting past dangers unharmed like traps from Widowmaker and Junkrat or to blink past a Reinhardt that’s charging at you. If you use 2 blink charges you can also escape Zarya’s Graviton Surge.
The most common tactic is to blink to an enemy, unload your Pulse Pistols, reload and dump one more attack before blinking away. This works best because it takes about 1 second to unload a clip, 1 second to reload, and another second for an additional attack, which equals the 3 seconds of a blink charge. Because of this make sure your pistols are fully loaded before blinking onto an enemy. They have a large cone of fire and a very heavy damage dropoff, so you should absolutely only use them in close range, preferably shooting at your enemy’s back as she is very squishy. Try to find single targets that are apart from the team, picking them off like the annoying little gnat that you are.
Recall causes Tracer to go back in time 3 seconds, returning her to whatever location, health and ammo she was at before, but know that she will NOT regain any shields or armor. It’s great for flanking a well guarded area so that you can blink in and take someone out, then recall before getting too overpowered. It removes Zenyatta’s Orb of Discord, which is AMAZING, and it’s also a great combination to use with her extremely deadly ultimate, Pulse Bomb. Blink into the middle of a fight, chuck a bomb, then recall to get out since it will also deal damage to Tracer.
Pulse Bomb can be tossed up to 7 feet in front of you and will stick to whatever target it hits, player or object, and explode after 2 seconds dealing 400 damage with a splash radius. If you stick the bomb on a player, there are a few enemies like Roadhog, Zarya, Mei, Reaper and others that either have high enough health or a special ability that can save them, but half of the heroes will face certain death unless rescured by another hero’s shield.
All these things considered, Tracer is by far the most effective on King of the Hill maps as she is able to easily traverse safely while getting to or guarding a hold point. She is great for both flanking enemies on a point and also patrolling areas to guard your team.
