Today, we are driving the Class 377 from Brighton to Lewes as we hear the story of The gunpowder plot.

In 1605, Guido Fawkes was discovered in the undercroft under the House of Lords with 36 barrels of gunpowder. It was prepared to be the single biggest attack upon the British establishment that would have wiped out the Monarch and his successors, Protestant leaders, politicians, and other dignitaries.

As we know, the plot was foiled, but what led up to the events of 1605 and who were the people behind it?
