Today I am having a look at a route called 'Hanson Quarry Railway', which is available on the Wayside Works website. The engine I am driving is Corris Railway No. 9 - which is probably the smallest locomotive I have ever seen in Train Simulator.

We start out in the yard at Hanson Quarry. After assembling a train of open wagons, we load them up with stone and take them to the drop-off point at the other end of the line. I'm really quite impressed at how well this tiny engine performed today. You'll see what I mean in the video. One thing I find quite amusing is that even these already tiny wagons tower over Corris No. 9

This little battery-electric locomotive was built by the Clayton Equipment Company in 1974, and was originally used at the Aberllefenni Slate Quarry. The locomotive was used in the underground portion of the slate quarry's tramway, as she was small enough to work in the restricted space.

The tramway continued to be worked by battery electric locomotives until the quarry closed in 2003, although I was unable to find out exactly when No. 9 was retired. As you can gather, the engine was lucky enough to be preserved on the nearby Corris Railway, where she still resides today.
