There's lots in the news about efforts to develop the Afghan Army, but it's Air Force is also expanding rapidly. At Kandahar, the Air Wing is now supporting ANA operations across Helmand - flying helicopters in and out of Camp Bastion and across the province to transport and resupply troops. There are up to 400 members of the Afghan Air force in Kandahar and everyone has different levels of experience. Some are new recruits, others have years of flying experience having been pilots under a former regime. The task of the team is to bring all their skills together. The pilots are being trained up by NATO personnel and they say they've already noticed a massive improvement in skills.
