Troops get back to basics for Op Herrick 17 21.07.11
As 20 Armoured Brigade get ready for Op Herrick 15 next month, the Sennelager Ranges have been busy with their pre-deployment and mission specific training.
They are not the only ones using the training facilities.
42 Field Engineer Squadron who returned from Op Herrick 14 last May have just started their training cycle again - beginning with re-visiting their most basic skills.
When the troops deploy on Op Herrick 17 later next year, route clearing, demolition and building bridges will be daily tasks.
Any weak culverts or weak bridges along a route will need to be dealt with as quickly as possible.
This three day specific engineer training is designed to ease the105 troops back into combat engineering so they are ready for their next tour.
