Trauma Center Second Opinion 1-8 XS in 0'43"783 [TAS] [Obsolete]
This is a tool-assisted speedrun (TAS). This means input was recorded for each individual frame with assistance of external tools such as save states.
In this video, I clear TCSO's 1-8 operation as fast as possible while obtaining an XS rank. This one was interesting to TAS, mostly because of the defibrillator, as it requires you to "push" the wiimote into the screen, except there's no way to configure that input in Dolphin's TAS input tab. Had to do it by hand, was fun.
About the defibrillator, the gauge works in ticks, and to get the green area on the first possible tick, it should be noted that input has a 1 frame delay for the defibrillator, and what is immediately triggered by the button presses is the flash. Another interesting thing happens with the way I get COOLs and BADs this video...
If you make your incision AND bandage your patient with BADs, you will be short of a few points from the XS rank, so you need to do either of those and clear the stage super fast to achieve a good score. I found out about this through the worst possible way. :D
Also, I seriously hope someone appreciates the cursor moving together with the star shape as it appears on screen, that took WAY too much time to make.
If you're wondering why it seems like I'm waiting at times, it's because of in-op dialogue that prevents you from performing inputs until it scrolls by, forcing me to wait a bit to start moving again.
At the end, you can skip the post-op dialogue by choosing to return to episode select. You can also skip regular text by pressing the - button.
