18Full game longplay of Trepang2, an FPS shooter, a sort of spiritual successor to F.E.A.R. in terms of gameplay and story too. Released on 21st June, 2023, by Trepang Studios, published by Team 17. Played at 3840x2160 resolution with DLSS set on Quality Mode, all the settings on High, locked to 60 fps so my OBS won't crap out. Recorded at 4K60 H.265 NVENC codec via OBS, i5 11400f and RTX 3060 12 GB.
Played all the main missions, and just one side mission to show what's it about, they are fully optional of course.
I am quite astounded how good this game turned out to be, It felt from the previews like it was going to be yet another indie boomer/retro-stylized shooter, and it turns out it basically pays homage to F.E.A.R. (1), which fully deserves it btw, AND its competent and good at the same time. Full of action, of slowmo, jumping karate, lots of particles and explosions, good physics, AI that is somewhat almost intelligent (not quite like in F.E.A.R., but then again, is there any game that is actually equal to it, even today?). HIGHLY recommended to retro shooter/FPS fans, short, sweet, and full of action, no bullshit. Strong 8/10.
