Trying To Keep Track Of Everything | Rail Route (Railway Network Builder & Automation Game)
159Rail Route is a game where we design, build, plan and automate a rail network, and I am going to begin this video description with an apology... I apologise for just how rubbish I am at this game!
The idea of the game is to build up a rail network but from a more administrative point of view. We're looking at an overhead technical diagram of a rail network and can see all the different stations, connections, switches and everything else.
To begin with everything is very manual. We have to assign trains to platforms, change the points to make the trains go to where they need to go, press the signals to allow the trains through, that sort of thing.
As more trains reach their destinations and we complete contracts we earn points which we can use to unlock helpful things, such as automatic platform assignments for the trains when they arrive. All this helps us automate things a little better.
We can also buy more platforms, open up new stations, build new train tracks, even build little conductor huts to pick up more contracts.
And I'm sure it's all wonderful, I was just pretty awful at it!
