Trying to repair Mark's Amstrad CPC464: Part 3 (No major progress)
Still no video out - grrrr.
It looks like the 40010 gate array is generating RGBS but obviously not correctly.
The 6845 CRT controller also appears to be outputting VSYNC & HSYNC (did check DISPEN earlier). Have removed & socketed it, and tested with a spare (thanks Aaron!) but no change.
Removed & socketed the 40009 ROM - no change.
Did the quick test where you seat a DRAM chip on top of a suspect one - no change. Have socketed one DRAM chip - might do the others.
Thought maybe the passives on the RGBS output might be distorting the output so tried connecting the GBS8200 directly to the output of the 40010 (not buffered, naughty me) - still nothing.
It's not something stupid like the keyboard needs to be connected, or the Datacorder?
