A little bit more about my Dick Smith Electronics VZ300 (also known as the Laser 310 and a few other names).

I finally pull it apart. It has an annoying RF shield covering all the interesting bits. Looks like I worked on this back in Feb. 2021 ... replacing the linear regulator, etc.

It's possible to upgrade the video RAM from 2KB (6116) to 8KB (6264 plus some extra logic) which allows a higher resolution. I'm off to Melbourne again for two weeks so this will have to wait until I'm back ...

I also pull apart the joystick (DSE JS20) ... looks like it has a fault that is causing the machine to hang when @bennvennelectronics SD loader is also installed. Ben suggested it might be the address decoder (74LS138) ... I've got one spare lying around somewhere so I'll try fixing it in the next part.

Got to mow the lawn first ...
