Turning on the Sync Library feature in Apple Music allows your music collection to stay consistent across all your Apple devices that are signed in with the same Apple ID. Whether you've added music from Apple Music's catalog or imported songs manually, enabling Sync Library ensures that all your tracks, albums, and playlists are accessible from your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or any other Apple device.
To activate this feature, start by making sure you’re signed into the correct Apple ID that has an active Apple Music subscription. Open the Apple Music app to verify your account status. Then, go to your iPhone’s Settings app. Scroll down until you find the list of installed apps, and locate the Music app.
Tap on Music to open its settings. If you're not signed in, you'll be prompted to do so. Once signed in, you’ll see the 'Sync Library' toggle. Turn this feature on. When enabled, your device will begin syncing your music library using iCloud. Depending on the size of your library and your network speed, syncing may take some time.
Enabling Sync Library is essential for users who often switch between devices or who want to make sure that all changes made in Apple Music—such as adding new songs, editing playlists, or liking tracks—are updated everywhere automatically.
Keep in mind that Sync Library requires an active Apple Music or iTunes Match subscription. Also, if some songs are missing after syncing, it may be due to unsupported file formats or iCloud upload limits.
