Many of us in the community have long been realising how much modders are carrying the consistent enjoyment and excitement that we can feel for these older games, especially in the face of a changing and diluting modern formula. I stumbled across a mod so wonderful it's almost ironic it came out just before Assassin's Creed Shadows, especially because of the strange perfection with which it fits into any game in the Kenway saga. The Japanese assassin experience is one that has been wanted by fans for a long, long time. And it's funny to see how close to that perfect experience you get once you swap a single character model out. AC Rogue, for example, lets you use the rope dart, have katanas, uses incredible sword fighting animations to make you feel like a deadly fighter, let's you have throwing knives, sleep darts, berserk darts, incredible parkour, and of course...the hidden blade.

It's kind of astonishing to see how much of the perfect or ideal formula for a Japanese game can be found in a decade-old game. I recommend all of you try this beautiful mod out, made by BAYKIEV, and enjoy Assassin's Creed Rogue (and now AC 4 as well) in a completely new, immersive light.
