The sun is going down. Seoul is in North Korean hands and a squadron of Mig-29s flies out of there. The most valiant gentlemen from the United Operations Airforce muster to
take it back. And by take it back, I mean blow it up. Because we can't, you know, Iron Eagle this shit.
It's a dangerous mission. We'll be flying nap of the earth, real low hugging mountains, hills and forests to obscure us from enemy radars, long before we leave the front line.
At 19:11 local the first flight Panther 1, the guys responsible for killing the enemy air defenses, a 4 ship of f-16s with cluster bombs led by myself, will get airborne.
We'll lead the package to steer 2, where we go on the deck. By steer 3 we're behind a big mountain, with our radars silent, and terrain masking like bosses. We pass over the road to Incheon at steer 4. Looking over our right shoulder, we might see some depots and shit. This is the "Abort target" if we can't make it to Seoul. But we will, because, we're a bunch of god damn heros.
To the east is an artillery battalion with shilkas and manpads, to the west even worse, a HQ battalion with all sorts of nasty shit.
Go around that crap. Hook toward Seoul. Then my flight will pop up to 20,000 feet and commence a dive bomb attack on another headquarters battalion just north west of the airbase. It's got SA-15s, shilkas, manpads, ZSU-54s, all sorts of stuff that can kill the strike flight. We got 2 minutes on target to finish our job then get the hell out of dodge. Then the strike, a 4 ship called Lobo1 is gonna come in and hit the runways and other expensive stuff using retarded bombs and hopefully not blowing themselves up.
Yeah. Sounds great. Except the whole area is covered by AAA - and if we don't kill the SAMs in the HQ battalion, the whole thing will need to be aborted so we can ruin some poor storage clerk's day at the Incheon depot.
It was hell.
