THE LIST - IDEAS FOR IMPROVEMENT. Uberlaufer is an early access title that puts the player in the bowels of a NAZI held dungeon complex.
This game can grow in a million great ways, the raw historic material is just laying there, the stories, waiting to be retold, and remembered, a game like Uberlaufer is more than just shooting Nazis, its walking thru history, its stepping into the shoes of the bravest men and woman every to have lived.
THE LIST for Uberlaufer is longer than any other I have made to date, 50 items, and so, I will share it in parts 20 at a time. here is 1 - 20 of MY best ideas to make UBERLAUFER into the ultimate version of itself. My hats off to the SINGLE Dev creating the game.
1:Dead Germans eyes close
2:Dead Germans hats/helms come off when hit - make noise - can alert Guards
3:Dead Germans leave blood smears when dragged - trail can be followed
4:Dead Germans leave persistent blood on surfaces - able to alert other guards
5:Dead Germans have multiple grab points - to be dragged by hands or feet as well
6:Dying Germans moan or make death noises - can alert other guards
7:Bolt action on weapons needs to be more direct - full contact - not whatever it is now
8:Key in doors needs only half turn - Keys in doors are janky with full turn
9:Use Gold bars to bribe guards - makes guard turn and walk away
10:Manually search dead German guards pocket "Zones" - player can look thru each pocket to create tension
11:German guards try to arrest before shooting - time to surrender - bribe - etc - not instantly shoot
12:Player can wear hat or helm as distant disguise in poor light - causes guards to hesitate for 2 seconds
13:Doors open by hand - no auto swing open - player can fully control for Peeking game-play
14:Handgun slots at hips - carbine at chest - Hips are the STANDARDIZED LOCATION for handgun placement in VR
15:ID card slot Visible at waistline for fast access by player - allows for quick player access and use
16:Make health "Tattoo" something of meaning - WW2 German resistance symbol - seems more fitting to the game
17:More graphic settings - allow full user control for bump/occlusion/alias etc - Crank PCVR all the way
18:More More More historical material - more radio recordings - political rallys - Boxed foods - etc
19:More realistic German bunker life - Smoking - Eating - Conversations - More working soldiers - radiomen - workers - etc
20:Better lighting - with baked and live lighting models blended - Lighting doesn't match model
