Here's a nice, easy way to get Minecraft working in Ubuntu 13.04. Play it in Hi-Def!
Open your terminal and type the following:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:minecraft-installer-peeps/minecraft-installer
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install minecraft-installer

this will install a 3rd party installer to setup Minecraft for you. Nice!
