Early on April 17, 1897, in the small town of Aurora, which is located approximately 30 miles northwest of Fort Worth, something weird allegedly occurred, according to tradition and a Texas historical marker.
When it smashed through a windmill and detonated, an airship in the shape of a cigar was spotted plummeting from the sky. It is said that the airship was not of this world.
